ICM/ME Portrait (February 2023)
There are over a 100 working gas lamps dotted around the Malverns and it’s said they’re the inspiration for CS Lewis’ Narnia gas lamps as he attended Malvern College as a schoolboy.
For this series of ten gas lamp photographs I alternate between more otherworldly art photography and lamps in-situ within the town. I thoroughly enjoyed my gas lamp project and this particular shot was taken very early on a Saturday morning in Great Malvern. I was actually photographing for another project and was on my way back to my car.. saw the vans neatly lined up with no -one in sight.. carried on to my car and then walked back again as it was a photo opportunity not to be missed!
